ABOUT US
Anna Hartley - School Principal
Miss Anna’s dance journey started at the age of three and after completing her training as a young dancer was fortunate enough to work under those who re-developed the Royal Academy of Dance Syllabus. In addition to her qualified RAD status and membership, Anna is a PBT Instructor (Progressing Ballet Technique) and recently attended the Royal Ballet Inspire Course.
Alison Hartley - School Manager
Following her sisters footsteps, Alisons dance journey started at a young age and after completing her training found herself better suited to making things happen and supporting young dancers in their pathways. Working in Arts Management has worked as a for DanceEast, Wild Space Dance Co. (directed by National Ballet of Canada Associate Choreographer, Robert Binet), and currently works part time for English National Ballet as Head of Participation.
Established in 1982 as the Angela Rowe school of Dance, Angela Rivett Rowe turned her professional performance career into a passion for training and supporting children and young people in Suffolk.
In 2013 the Angela Rowe (AR) School of Dance took new ownership, now run by sisters Anna and Alison Hartley. After many years of making their own dance memories and supporting the school in various roles, it was to no ones surprise that this is what they would end up doing.
With an excellent team of teachers the school delivers high quality training in dance technique with two established examination systems - the Royal Academy of Dance and the Imperial Society of Teachers Dancing - and provides opportunities for pupils to take part in performances, dance festivals and summer schools for further development.
All teachers are registered members of the RAD and or ISTD and have valid DBS checks.
